Michael Patrick Bio
Born into a musical household, Michael Patrick began pounding cardboard boxes to Doobie Brothers & Eagles tunes as an infant along with his dad's band during weekly rehearsals in their home basement.

Growing up in various suburbs of New Jersey, Michael has been playing music all his life. From drums as a child to guitar throughout highschool and bass stints and then back to guitar again.. Full circle if you will..

Lookin' back, it is now evident that most of Michael's musical influences have stemmed from this time period of 70's "acoustic-driven" artists and tunes.

Inspired by the folk, country, rockabilly, bluegrass, gospel, roots and rock sounds of such artists as : Johnny Cash, Elvis, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Bruce Springsteen,  Doc Watson, Jimmy Buffett, John Prine, and the like, Michael Patrick has developed an appreciation of simplistic story-telling lyrics, catchy hooks and memorable melodies.

With a voice that has been described by some as a unique cross-breed of Johnny Cash, John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, Arlo Guthrie,  & Garth Brooks, a "Michael Patrick tune" is certainly distinguishable, carries his signature "twang" yet maintains it's own unique identity.

His unique guitar playing style incorporates elements of Flatpicking, Folk Strummings and driving percussive rhythms.

You can catch Michael performing solo acoustic shows or with his band of esteemed musicians  known as "The Suburban Hillbillies".

As a 13 year veteran of the Original Grateful Dead tribute band "World Within", Michael has logged over 600 live performances in the tri-state (NY,NJ,PA) area, His achievements include: A successful debut release (World Within) with air-play on WDHA 105.5 and several college radio stations, not to mention opening Slots for: The Marshall Tucker Band, Hot Tuna, Jefferson Starship and The Spin Doctors. Michael also arranged and performed on a 3 week tour with Grateful Dead veteran keyboardist "Tom Constanten".

Although his home state of New Jersey doesn't offer much in the way of country music these days (Heck, there's not even a radio station and maybe a few bars), Michael takes great pride in filling that void and offers fans a place to call home at his local performances.

Michael looks forward to introducing and delivering his brand of "Country Fried, Folk Flavored Roots Rock & Roll" to both new and old fans alike.

Michael Patrick maintains a website at: "www.michael-patrick.net" which includes tour dates, media photos and audio clips.
